Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander Driver

Posted by3 years ago

This is the driver CD for the Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander game controller. MS Part number X05-63770 It includes the manual and intro videos in multiple languages, as well as drivers for Windows 98 and Windows 2000. I need window 7 drivers for my sidewinder strategic commander. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

I have a couple of these 'ancient devices' and figured it would be a worthy alternative to HOTAS or HOSAS control scheme. Right hand on stick, and left on the SSC. The problem is that the configuration software (either MS's own old version or the newer, x64 compatible one) only allows one to bind keypresses to the axis (axii?), making the digital controls.

Actually, in hardware, the devices does have three different analog axis (x, y, rotate), but I can't seem to find a way to access/map them to SC.

I'm fairly sure I read from this sub a comment recently that had a link to a software that could enable analog usage of the axis.

As this really is an OLD device and not many people even back then knew of it's existence, I realize this is a shot in the dark, but I think it could be worth the trouble.
